After taking a few days off, the sun finally decided to come out for what felt like the first time in 2021. This was brilliant news, as it meant I could properly show off one of the nicest shirts in my collection in all its glory- Bayern Munich’s 14/15 home shirt.
I’ve written about this shirt before and how it’s red and blue colours will help you blend in seamlessly with both sides of L.A gang culture. Turns out it’s pretty handy in Liverpool too, where we have our own red/blue divide.
Like the shirt, today’s band are from Germany too. I’d never heard of Giant Rooks before this, but their latest album had my hooked from the first track. The songs switch genres, moods and energies very efficiently, and the lead singer doesn’t lose his German accent which is refreshing in a world of music where seemingly everybody tries to sound American.
This is great news, because I can now pretend to people that I’ve got my finger on the pulse of the music scene, and recommend this great band from outside the mainstream, as I go full hipster and drink IPAs in skinny jeans.
Unfortunately however that means the Bayern shirt will have to go, when I replace it with a strip from the German 3rd division so I look more cultured. Which team you ask?
You’ve probably never heard of them. I knew them before they were cool.
